Start:ME Spotlight:

Nyota Byfield

Wells Fargo Bank

Serve as a resource to others, forming strategic alliances, and uses analytical, relationship and organization management skills to problem solve and mitigate risk.

In addition to your work at Wells Fargo, you are entrepreneur yourself. Explain a little about your own business and how that business has aided your time at Start:ME?

"The fact that I wear both hats allows me to relate to the entrepreneurs and share both experiences."

I own a women's online boutique, called Frugal Chics Roc, which styles women with statement accessories and clothing for work and play. The fact that I wear both hats allows me to relate to the entrepreneurs and share both experiences. I understand the need to at times juggle both worlds and deliver a quality product or service. Plus my MBA is helpful as I have the added analytical and structured perspective.

Are there some Start:ME entrepreneurs you've purchased products or services from?

"Yes, salon services from YaYas, hair care products from Moisture Love, and skincare products from Buttermeup."

You are terrific at reviewing pitches. What advice would you give to anyone as they start to develop a pitch?

"Know your audience. Develop your story, and tell your story with numbers in a way that impacts your audience."
